Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL)

The Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) in of our school is a state-of-the-art workspace established under the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of the Government of India (NITI Aayog). Its primary purpose is to move beyond textbook learning to foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among students from Grade VI to XII.
It's essentially a dedicated, non-curricular space where young minds are encouraged to experiment, tinker, and develop solutions to real-world problems using modern technology. The ATL operates on a "Do-It-Yourself" (DIY) philosophy, emphasizing hands-on learning, iteration, and failure as a step toward success.

Key Activities
  • Innovation Challenges: Students participate in challenges like the annual ATL Marathon, where they develop solutions for societal problems (e.g., waste management, water scarcity, agricultural issues).
  • Workshops & Training: Regular sessions on topics like drone technology, app development, robotics, and 3D printing.
  • Mentorship: The lab benefits from the 'Mentor of Change' program, connecting students with external experts (engineers, entrepreneurs, and academicians) for guidance on their projects.

    • The Atal Tinkering Lab is thus a transformation agent, shifting the educational focus from merely consuming information to creating, innovating, and applying knowledge.
